Megan Thee Stallion tearfully recollects alleged shooting incident with rapper Tory Lanez

Megan Thee Stallion is recounting the terrifying moment where she claims fellow rapper Tory Lanez allegedly shot her in both feet and has said she thought he might ‘shoot me and kill me.’

Lanez, 29, – real name Daystar Peterson – was charged after allegedly shooting at Stallion as she left an SUV vehicle during a drunken argument in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.

‘So, I get out the car and it’s like, everything happens so fast,’ Stallion told CBS host Gayle King in an emotional interview on Monday. ‘And all I hear is this man screaming. And he started shooting. I’m just like, “Oh my God.” He shot a couple of times.’

Lanez pleaded not guilty to the felony assault charge as well as felony possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm in November 2020.

He is next due to appear in court on September 14.

Stallion, real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, continued: ‘All I hear is this man screaming and he said, “Dance b****!”” the rapper explained. ‘And he started shooting and I’m just like, oh my God.’

‘I didn’t even want to move, I didn’t want to move too quick,’ Stallion added while tearing up and getting emotional.

‘Cause I’m like, oh, my God. If I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he’s going to shoot something that’s, like, super important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me.’

‘I was really scared ’cause I had never been shot at before,’ she said.

The pair were rumored to have been dating at the time, but Stallion claimed in her op-ed for the New York Times that they were just friends.

Stallion’s wounds are believed to have been caused by shrapnel in her feet and had initially claimed she sustained the injuries by stepping on glass.

Talking about how the altercation took place, Stallion explained: ‘It was an argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn’t ready to go, but that’s like normal friend stuff.’

‘We fuss about silly stuff all the time. But… I never put my hands on anybody, I never raised my voice too loud. This was one of them times where it shouldn’t have got this crazy.’

Earlier this month, Lanez was handcuffed in court during a hearing addressing felony assault charges in an attack on Stallion, after a judge found he violated a protective order put in place last year that prohibited the Canadian rapper from harassing his former flame.

During the hearing in Superior Court of Los Angeles County, Judge David V. Herriford ruled Lanez violated the order a series of disparaging social media posts.

The Say It singer was posted restrained and taken into custody, with the judge setting his at $350,000 – a $100,000 increase from Lanez’s previous, which he late last summer. He had been free since then.

During the hearing, Herriford listened to almost an hour of arguments regarding Lanez’s social media activity.

One twitter post from February read: ‘Good d*** had me f***ing 2 best friends … and I got caught … that’s what I apologized for … it’s sick how u Spun it tho.’

Herriford said the tweets ‘seem to be clear messages’ directed at Megan, thus violating the protective order put in place by the judge more than a year ago, in February 2021. He was prohibited from contacting or harassing Megan, or sharing any developments in the case.

The order followed Lanez’s Instagram rant in October: ‘[Megan] knows what happened, I know what happened, and we know that what you’re saying and [that] the alleged things and the alleged accusations of my name is [sic] are not true.’

Prosecutors also pointed to a February tweet from Lanez’s friend, social media personality from DJ Akademiks, which said DNA found on the gun that shot Megan, 27, did not match that of Lanez.

It is not the first time that Lanez had his bail raised for violating the protective order.

Last August, Herriford increased his bail from $190,000 to $250,000 for violating stipulations to stay away from Stallion.

He had made a surprise appearance last month at the Rolling Loud concert in Florida where she also performed, according to an article by TMZ.

At that hearing, Herriford said: ‘We have two high-profile celebrities named as the defendant and the alleged victim in this case,’ pointing out that ‘the last thing I think anyone wants’ is for social media to be used as evidence in the case.

After the infraction, Lanez’s bail conditions were modified by the judge to specifically prohibit Tory from attending events where Megan was present.

A new trial start date for the rapper – who pleaded not guilty to the felony assault charge as well as felony possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm in November 2020 – is currently set for September 14.

Lanez is accused of shooting at Megan’s right foot after she left a SUV during a fight in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.

Megan revealed that she was simply trying to go home when she got in the car with Tory Lanez, a move she was hesitant to even make as an argument was brewing and her phone had died.

When Megan attempted to get out of the vehicle, Lanez allegedly shot at her feet and wounded her twice.

‘Like, I never put my hands on nobody,’ she said while recalling the scenario in disbelief. ‘I barely even said anything to the man who shot me when I was walking away. We were literally like five minutes away from the house.’

Lanez reportedly begged Megan and her friend in the car not to say anything and even ‘offered’ money for them to stay quiet.

He faces two felony charges – assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Lanez faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison if convicted.
